The next few months are busy ones. I’m finishing up a book as well as moving to a different community. Regrettably, there aren’t enough hours in the week to fit everything in. For the first time, therefore, I’ll be taking a summer vacation. Please enjoy the more than 1,000 images I’ve posted over the past four years over at TripodGirl.com.
I look forward to seeing you again in September.
Since 2007, I’ve posted a gallery of free images every Monday to my TripodGirl.com website. Each of those images has been formatted as wallpaper/background for computer monitors of various sizes.
In early 2011, I began experimenting with the built-in camera in my iPhone 4 and paying attention to the numerous apps that distribute iPhone wallpaper. One of them is from GelaSkins, a company that sells high quality artwork in the form of decorative covers for laptops and other devices.
The retina screen on the iPhone 4 is, in a word, awesome. Which means that this phone lets everyone carry excellent quality artwork around in their pocket. For the first time, ordinary people have quick, easy, portable access to lots of stunning imagery.
As a visual artist, I know my own creativity is stoked when I’m exposed to great images. I’m therefore taking a three-month detour from my usual TripodGirl schedule. During April, May, and June I’ll be re-visiting many of my already-released images. Those suitable for the iPhone format will be re-cropped and published in groups each Monday.
Step one is to produce an extensive catalog of iPhone wallpapers. Step two, later in 2011, will (with luck) involve the release of a TripodGirl app.
